Classic Wool yarn or Acrylic yarn, a ball of yarn at a low price

Classic wool yarn is a round yarn that can be used for all kinds of projects. Wool is a natural material with undeniable qualities, particularly as a thermal insulator. Wool yarn is ideal for winter use, but can also be combined with other synthetic yarns, for example. Acrylic is a comfortable, crease-resistant material that is also highly insulating because it retains heat. All these characteristics make acrylic yarns highly prized in the textile industry. This type of yarn can also be combined with wool yarn to make soft, easy-care products at an affordable price. Polyester yarns guarantee excellent elasticity, retain odours and ensure that your garments are dyefast. Products made from polyester yarns are strong, light and easy to care for. Polyamide yarns, on the other hand, contain extensible and resistant fibres, making it possible to manufacture garments that do not deform over time. Polyamide yarn can be used to make light, strong garments.

Classic wool yarn, an essential for knitting and crochet enthusiasts

These balls of classic yarns and wools, which can also be made from natural materials such as cotton or wool, are perfect for those who love knitting needles and crochet hooks. Knowing the special features of the different yarns available on our La Lainière de Wazemmes website is essential for choosing the yarn that best suits the fabric and the project you want to knit or crochet. Using these classic yarns requires a certain type of care: classic yarns and wools should be washed in the washing machine at 30°C max or in the Wool programme. Be careful not to tumble dry or iron them, as this could damage the fibres ! You can find all our care advice on the product pages of our website to help you look after your woollens in the best possible way. We don’t usually recommend putting natural wool yarns in the washing machine, but there are some types of wool yarn that are very easy to care for in the machine, like Merino wool, for example. At La Lainière de Wazemmes, we offer the CASHWOOL Merino Wool ball from Textiles de la Marque and the MALMEDY ball from Annell.

Classic wool yarn and noble quality yarn, a perfect blend !

A ball of classic yarn can be combined very well with a ball of a nobler, better quality yarn, such as a ball of Silk, a ball of Linen, a ball of Alpaca Wool and Merino Wool, or a ball of Mohair Wool. If you’d like to add a touch of originality to your creations in classic yarns, you can opt for a yarn with a slightly fancier feel to create a product with a unique design! Among our balls that go perfectly with these different wool yarns, you can find the ALASKA ball from Annell, combining Acrylic, Alpaca, Wool and Polyester. We also offer the ANGELA MULTI wool yarn from Lammy Yarns, in Acrylic and Mohair wool, or the FIFTY ball from Textiles de la marque in Merino wool and Acrylic yarn. You can also discover some of our classic knitting yarns in different knitting or crochet kits, such as our Snood crochet kit or the Bonnet knitting kit.
