Wool yarns, essential for knitting and crochet

Balls of wool yarn are perfect for working with knitting needles or crochet hooks. The natural fibres in wool yarn guarantee softness, strength and thermal insulation. There are different types of wool, such as Alpaca Wool, a hairy wool native to the Andes, Merinos Wool, a very soft, warm wool, or Mohair Wool, a wool characterised by its very light weight. Alpaca Wool yarns are very high quality yarns with a soft, silky appearance, which will add a beautiful sheen to your knitted or crocheted creations. What’s more, Alpaca Wool yarn is light and strong. Merino Wool yarn, on the other hand, also guarantees softness and lightness, while giving you a feeling of comfort, like a second skin.

Knitting wool, a natural material with superior qualities

Merino wool fibres are hypoallergenic, and products made with Pure Merino Wool yarn are very easy to care for. What’s the little extra of this type of wool ? You can easily put your items made with Merino Wool in the washing machine, at 30°C max or on the Wool programme. At La Lainière de Wazemmes, our Merino Wool yarns include the Cashwool ball from Textiles de la Marque and the Malmedy ball from Annell. Finally, Mohair wool yarn is a yarn from the Angora goat. This yarn is made up of natural fibres with thermoregulating properties that also offer softness, strength, lightness and warmth, similar to the characteristics of a ball of yarn made from Alpaca Wool and Merino Wool.

Wool knitting yarns, perfect allies for winter

You can combine your Wool yarns with other yarns such as Acrylic or Silk to make all kinds of creations such as accessories for your home, pretty jumpers, cardigans, T-shirts, plaids and much more. Thanks to its fine knits, wool is very pleasant and comfortable to wear. Unlike a ball of cotton or linen yarn, which are ideal for summer use, knitting with wool yarn means opting for warmth in all circumstances! A product made with wool yarns will be your ideal partner for warding off the winter chill.
